TODAY’S VERSE: Hebrews 10:22,23
“Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water. So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgment of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.” [Amplified Bible (AMP) Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation]
TODAY’S MESSAGE
Many times we make our prayers and then sit down and wait for God to answer. On other occasions we pray, but keep doing and living like we’ve always lived, having the hope that God will somehow or sometime in the future do for us as we’ve asked.
The Bible teaches us that God is faithful; He’s always been faithful, and will always be. At the same time, God does not waste His resources. He expects us to come to Him with a heart of assurance, for He will indeed answer us at the appropriate time.
Perhaps the problem here is that our expectations in this area are pretty low. If I am asking God for a new car, am I taking the needed steps to research and learn more about how cars work, or which one would be the best choice for me? Perhaps I feel the call to be a Pastor or Missionary. Am I equipping myself in the Word and with trusted Spirit-filled leaders who may help me be equipped for God’s calling in my life?
You see, God honors specific prayers, and He expects us to act in faith as though the answer was already given. For in the spiritual realm these things are already a given reality (Hebrews 11:1); what we need is the patience and assurance that their manifestation will take place in the natural, in God’s timing.
Let us continue to come to God in prayer with the assurance that His will is to give us “the desire of our hearts.” Then let us act in this assurance and make ourselves ready for that answer to have its manifestation in the natural realm of our lives. For everything is always possible with God.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your faithfulness and willingness to answer all my prayers. Help me to rely on Your faithfulness every day and take any necessary steps to validate my assurance in Your love and Your desire to answer my prayers. In Jesus’ precious name, amen.
